Position Summary: The Director of H.R. works with senior management and client Boards and Committees to establish implement and maintain comprehensive human resource policy, benefit design, payroll vendor/processing, recruiting, and appropriate regulatory compliance.  The Director establishes the Department focus of the Management Company and creates the environment by which the Department staff support Clients and internal department personnel. A major focus is on the method and means of providing timely HR, Benefits and Payroll services to Client offices and staff in a manner that exceeds internally set quality standards and expectations and also remains fully compliant with applicable laws and regulations.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

Functions
Develops, aligns, and adjusts HR strategies to respond to changing business needs
Provides leadership to organization on HR regulatory compliance and reporting (Workers Compensation, EEO-1, Unemployment claims)
Directs and consults on investments of Central HR Resources (i.e. Training, C&B, Recruitment) based on best practices
Provides management with ongoing consultation on talent development and performance management tools and solutions
Develops policies and processes; creates efficiencies
Coaches and develops managers and employees to success
Manages and develops the HR team on a daily basis. Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively and takes corrective action as necessary on a time basis and in accordance with company policy.
Manages employee relations issues to resolution; develops protocols based on issues
Interacts with clients to ensure compliance and to maintain high level of customer responsiveness

 

Additional Job Functions:

  • Manage re-organizations and other change management initiatives
  • Lead and participate in staff and departmental meetings
  • Participates in staff meetings.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge on all HR laws and best practices
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Position Requirements:

  • 8-10 years of broad Human Resources experience in multiple disciplines (Compensation, Benefits, Training, Organizational, Development, Employee Relations, Recruiting, etc.)
  • 5 years of management experience and evidence of interaction and influence with senior management required.
  • BA/BS degree required ; PHR / SPHR preferred
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical , and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in communicating with audiences across a wide spectrum of society with strong oral and written skills.
  • A hands-on manager with integrity and a desire to work in a dynamic, driven environment.
  • Proactive and service oriented with evidence of having worked in a service related company.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize and coordinate own and others actions.
